Contract - Permanent Hours- 37 per week Salary- £26,403 - £40,777 per annum We have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Auditor to join our friendly Audit and Risk Team at Blackpool Council. This is a career graded post and we are happy to hear from graduates who have an interest in governance, risk management and control and aspire to work towards a professional qualification in internal audit or experienced internal auditors seeking a new challenge. The grade which you are appointed on will depend on your qualifications and experience. The relevant pay scales are as follows: The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a good communicator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to write reports to a good quality. You will receive on the job training to help you develop your career as an internal auditor and receive support towards achieving the required qualifications to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. This is a challenging and interesting position and we are looking to appoint a candidate who can effectively demonstrate the commitment, professionalism and objectivity required for this role. Blackpool Council is a large employer which provides a diverse range of services to the residents of Blackpool. The internal audit team deliver risk-based and compliance audits to the Council, maintained schools and a number of Council owned companies. The companies include sectors such as housing, leisure, waste and transport. In addition to the work identified in the internal audit plan the team also provide advice and guidance on a wide range of risk and control issues to management including involvement in project groups for significant system changes.
