Coroner's Casual Usher

External candidates applying for this role must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale (i.e where the household pays council tax to Rochdale Borough Council).

About Us:

Rochdale Borough Council is seeking to appoint Casual Coroner’s Court Ushers to support the Coroner’s Court. You will be a highly motivated and disciplined person capable of working in a high-pressured environment with continually changing priorities.

About You:

You will be dealing with a range of medical and/ or legal professionals, police staff and communicating with bereaved families who are likely to be highly emotional and vulnerable so your communication skills need to be excellent and professional.

In addition, you should have basic technical ability and confidence in using digital tools such as Microsoft Teams and email systems to support processes. Full training will be provided but you will be required to work on your own initiative quickly with minimal training to support the Coroner’s service.
