Salary: NJC Grade E SCP 12-17 £28,598 - £31,022 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Direct Payments Finance Assistant within Business Support - Adult Social Care. The role involves overseeing and supporting the financial aspects of direct payments provided to individuals receiving social care. You’ll ensure funds are used appropriately, provide guidance to service users and carers, and work closely with internal teams to maintain compliance and transparency.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and audit direct payment accounts to ensure appropriate use of funds.
• Provide financial advice and support to service users, carers, and social care staff.
• Investigate discrepancies and take appropriate action in line with policy.
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports for management.
• Liaise with payroll providers, service users, and other stakeholders as needed.

 What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role. 
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
