The Role:

We are looking for young people who are excited and ready to start a career with Bolton Council. As the local government authority for the borough, our teams work across the town to make Bolton a great place for everyone.
To help us deliver highquality services to our residents and colleagues, we need enthusiastic apprentices who are flexible, motivated, and willing to learn.
This apprenticeship is based within our Housing Options and Advice Group Services, who work to prevent homelessness in Bolton and provide advice and assistance on a wide range of housingrelated matters. While working towards your Business Administration (Level 3) Apprenticeship Qualification, you will learn on the job and support the team with a variety of administrative tasks, including:
Scanning and maintaining files and databases
Photocopying and document production
Diary planning
Responding to customer enquiries
General administrative support as needed

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys helping others, is organised, and can work accurately and reliably

About You:
This is a developmental role, ideal for a recent school leaver with little or no previous work experience. You’ll bring fresh ideas and be eager to learn and grow your skills and knowledge. The successful candidate will undertake a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship, attending college one day a week and working with their team and the wider service for the remaining four days.
To apply for this apprenticeship role, you will need to:
Be passionate about joining Bolton Council
Have a basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office
Be a team player
Not be afraid to try new things
Be able to listen and learn from others
Be able to respect confidentiality and handle information sensitively as part of your role
You must also:
Be aged between 1618, as this role forms part of Bolton Council’s School Leaver Apprenticeship Programme.
Live within the boundaries of the borough of Bolton.
Have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or be expected to obtain these by September 2026).
Not already hold Business Administration qualification or similar at level 3 or above.
