Would you like to have your voice heard? ********************************************************* Young people in Blackpool are leading the change and we are looking for Youth Advisors aged 16-21 to be part of this. We know from experience that young people facing a range of challenges in life can find it more difficult to access employment, training and education and we want that to change. We are actively looking for young people who know and understand what it feels like to not have a job, education or training opportunities. We know that only by employing young people with living experience or lived experience can we find out what parts of the system are not working for young people and work with them to improve the situation. We want young people who are interested in changing the systems that affect them & their peers so we can give all young people in Blackpool a better chance in life. This is a fantastic opportunity for ANY Blackpool young person aged 16-21, who has experience of being not in education, training or employment. Be the voice for yourself and young people just like you! We will support you to develop your skills so you can work co-productively with other professionals and young people, to improve the opportunities of young people in Blackpool. Some of the current Youth Advisors have been involved in activities such as: · Supporting local young people's organisations to ensure young people's voices are heard. · Attending meetings in person and online to share insights and lived experiences · Co-designing written documents & plans. · Co-designing new systems and programmes to support young people to sustain employment, education & training. · Attending meetings with decision-makers and those working on the ground to support young people with their employment, education & training. · Attending local and national conferences to help shape funding and projects for Blackpool · Attend, and speak at, conferences & events about your experience of being out of employment, education & training so more people can hear first-hand experiences. *********************************************************************** If you would like to develop your skills whilst making a difference for young people in Blackpool we would like to hear from you.
