HR & OD Advisor (Career Graded Post up to Grade 11)

About the role

We’re recruiting for an exciting 12month opportunity to join Bury Council’s HR & OD Team as a HR & OD Advisor, supporting the Children & Young People department through the transformational Families First Partnership Programme. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fastpaced environment and is keen to contribute to meaningful organisational change to help shape the future of services for Children's and families in Bury.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the HR & OD Business Partner to deliver highquality, comprehensive and peoplecentred HR support throughout the change programme. You’ll act as a trusted first point of contact for managers and staff, offering professional guidance on a wide range of employment matters. Strong analytical skills (ideally with job evaluation experience) and project management experience will help you play a vital role in supporting the rapidly improving department through the next chapter of a fundamental transformation.

About you:

• You will have significant experience of leading and advising on change management with the ability to organise and prioritise workload within a fast-paced environment.
• You will have experience in supporting HRrelated projects and delivering solutions that meet organisational needs.
• You will have an understanding of dealing with the job evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly develop credibility and strong relationships with key stakeholders within the allocated service areas are also essential.
• You will be CIPD Level 5 qualified with excellent knowledge of HR best practice and current employment legislation.

The role offers a combination of working remotely from home and from the Town Hall or other Council buildings when required, with an average of two days a week working directly with your team and customers.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Actual working pattern is negotiable. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
