The Role
Are you enthusiastic about supporting children’s wellbeing? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Midday Assistant to join our team, with a primary focus on our Lunchtime Nurture Space.
While many children enjoy the bustle of the playground, others thrive in a more structured, quiet, and supportive environment. This role is based largely within a classroom setting, where you will facilitate a "nurture hub" for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Nurture Activities: Create a welcoming atmosphere and guide children through small-group activities including board games, arts and crafts, and imaginative play.

Pastoral Support: Provide a listening ear and help children navigate social interactions, build confidence, and manage emotions during their break.
Inclusive Play: Ensure the nurture space remains a safe, inclusive, and calm environment for all children
General Midday Duties: On occasion, support the wider midday team with dining hall supervision or playground duties as required.
Duties include
Providing emotional support, addressing behaviour concerns, and fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment, particularly for pupils with SEN.
Organising and supervising games and activities to encourage positive social interaction.
Supporting children with meal service, promoting good table manners
Ensuring the safety and welfare of children in playgrounds, dining halls, and classrooms
supervision of children in the playground
encouraging the children to eat their meal in the dining hall
ensuring that hygiene standards are met
working as a team
have the ability to work calmly with any incidents which may arise assist including basic first aid
We are looking for someone who:
Has a warm, patient, and nurturing personality.
Enjoys engaging with children and can lead small-group activities with ease.
Has an understanding of (or a willingness to learn about) social-emotional needs in a primary school setting.
Is a reliable team player with a positive "can-do" attitude.

The successful candidates will be required to work 5 hours per week.
Monday to Friday, 1 hour per day
