Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 per week Salary: NJC Grade H3 SCP 36-40 £47,181 - £51,356 per annum Closing Date: Friday 27th March 2026 at 23:59 About the Role Blackpool Council are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Social Worker to join our Request for Support Hub (formerly MASH), the front door to Children’s Social Care in Blackpool. This is a key leadership position within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where safeguarding decisions must be timely, proportionate and well-evidenced. As a Senior Social Worker, you will bring professional expertise, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to ensuring that every child receives the right help at the right time. You will play a crucial role in supporting the team, shaping practice, and maintaining high standards across the service. Key Responsibilities - Lead on complex and high-risk referrals, offering clear, evidence-based recommendations. - Support and mentor social workers, ASYEs and wider practitioners through reflective discussions, advice and practice observations. - Promote robust multi-agency information-sharing. - Ensure thresholds are applied consistently and safeguarding standards are upheld. - Contribute to quality assurance activity, audits, service learning and performance improvement. - Maintain high standards in recording, analysis and decision-making. About You Essential: - Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. - Significant post-qualification experience in safeguarding, assessment or front-door services. - Ability to critically analyse information and make timely, defensible decisions. - Strong communication, partnership and influencing skills. - Experience supporting the professional development of colleagues.
