Your role:

Reporting to a Head of Communications and Engagement, you’ll be responsible for joined-up corporate communications for GMCA internal and stakeholder audiences.

As well as GMCA colleagues, you’ll work closely alongside communications teams from Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) as part of a coordinated ‘group’ approach.

You’ll build trusted relations with senior leaders such as the GMCA Managing Director, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and senior leaders planning and delivering impactful coordinated corporate communications that support the Greater Manchester Strategy.


About you:

You’ll be a proactive, creative and experienced communicator who can produce compelling content based on the organisation’s strategic priorities and bring them to life.

You’ll be committed to embedding our values and be a collaborative leader that can work across the ‘group’ to deliver on shared goals GMCA, GMFRS and TfGM.

You’ll have specialist knowledge of corporate communications techniques and approaches, and experience of using these to effectively and creatively engage internal and stakeholder audiences.

You’ll be comfortable working with and providing communications advice to senior leaders. Particularly, you will be an excellent writer, with a track record of consistently delivering creatively written and visual materials to high standards.

A knowledge and understanding of local government would be an advantage as would experience of working in a politically sensitive environment.
