About the Role We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Strategic Business and Intelligence Improvement Manager to provide senior leadership for performance, intelligence and continuous improvement across Adult Social Care. This is a highimpact role at the heart of the Adult Social Care leadership team. You will lead how data, insight and evidence are used to drive improvement, support decisionmaking and demonstrate accountability to regulators, elected members and partners. You will play a critical role in shaping our improvement journey, including preparation for inspections and ensuring a strong, outcomefocused performance culture across the system. What you’ll be doing Provide strategic leadership for Adult Social Care performance, intelligence and improvement functions. Ensure performance and quality information meets statutory, regulatory and inspection requirements, including CQC. Act as a trusted advisor to the Director, Assistant Directors and Heads of Service, using insight and analysis to challenge, influence and support improvement. Lead the development of outcomebased frameworks, performance dashboards and reporting that genuinely support better practice and decisionmaking. Drive a continuous improvement approach, embedding the effective use of data across leaders and frontline managers. Oversee statutory returns, needs analysis and assurance processes, ensuring data quality, compliance and transparency. Lead preparation for inspections, peer reviews and selfevaluations, including evidence gathering and improvement planning. Work collaboratively across Adult Social Care, the wider council and health and safeguarding partnerships to develop a wholesystem view of performance. Build capability across the workforce through training, coaching and leadership on how to use data and insight to improve outcomes. About you You will be a confident, credible leader with significant experience of: Leading performance management, business intelligence or improvement functions within Adult Social Care or a complex public sector environment. Translating complex data into clear insight that influences senior decisionmaking. Driving improvement and transformation in challenging, highly regulated contexts. Working effectively with senior leaders, elected members and external partners. Leading and developing teams, programmes and projects to deliver measurable outcomes. You will also demonstrate strong valuesbased leadership, political awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to constructively challenge and be challenged. If you have completed the GM Elevate Leadership Development Programme within the last 2 years, please indicate this within the ‘About You’ or ‘Supporting Statement’ section of your application. Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
