About the role


We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Rough Sleepers Coordinator to join our Homelessness and Housing Options Service. This is a key role in a dynamic team that delivers vital support to people who are rough sleeping or at risk across the borough. You will help shape Bury’s approach to reducing rough sleeping, coordinating programmes, and developing effective solutions for individuals with complex needs.


This post is offered on a 12month fixed-term contract with the opportunity for further extension, subject to funding and service needs.

You will manage and support our Rough Sleeper Outreach team and lead on a range of commissioned interventions, including A Bed Every Night, the Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme, CAS3 and other GM-wide initiatives. Working closely with partners across housing, health, criminal justice, voluntary sector providers and Greater Manchester colleagues, you will ensure a coordinated and proactive response for those who need it most.

This is an agile role, working across the borough and from Bury Town Hall, with flexibility to meet the needs of the service. You will also oversee severe weather provision, annual counts and key operational pathways that support both prevention and long-term recovery.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting people with complex needs, including homelessness, mental health issues and substance misuse
  • Confident in working across multiple agencies and able to challenge and influence effectively
  • A creative problem-solver who can develop services and drive improvements
  • Organised, skilled in assessment and service coordination, and able to manage multiple programmes
  • An adaptable leader with experience supervising staff and developing others
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, and high-quality public service

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
