This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the pastoral care and safeguarding provision at St Ann’s RC Primary School, a Catholic school where the school mission of Love, Respect and Service underpins all aspects of school life. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the Pastoral Service and work closely with the Safeguarding Team to ensure pupils are safe, supported, and able to thrive. They will play a key role in improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils by strengthening engagement with children and their families, with a focus on attendance, wellbeing, welfare, and safeguarding, ensuring a strong and consistent commitment to inclusion for all learners.
To be responsible for attendance, promoting a culture of high expectations, belonging, and commitment in line with the Catholic ethos of Love, Respect and Service.
To develop, plan and implement a range of pastoral and safeguarding strategies, supporting the holistic development, wellbeing, and progress of all pupils, including those with additional needs.
To support safeguarding across the school, including attendance at meetings and effective management of systems such as CPOMS, ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of all pupils.
To be a strong team player who is friendly, professional, and able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staff, building positive and trusting relationships quickly.
To be committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of pupils with special educational needs, demonstrating understanding of a range of needs
including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs within a 311 primary school setting.
To demonstrate personal resilience, flexibility, and the ability to motivate others, modelling the positive attitudes and behaviours expected of young people, and having previous experience working with children aged 311 in an educational setting.
