The Governors are seeking an inspirational teacher with the skills to positively impact the lives of children with Special Educational needs within an inclusive environment where all children flourish.

At Sacred Heart we believe that every child deserves an exceptional education. We want to appoint a dedicated classroom teacher, to join a hard-working team, who is ready to take on the responsibility of SENDCo.

Either with experience as SENDCO or as a talented teacher with a heart for inclusion and a strong commitment to the necessary training (NPQ for SENDCo).

We will fully fund and support your training journey to ensure you succeed.

Sacred Heart is an over-subscribed, one-form entry primary school which is at the heart of the local community, where pupils thrive; pupil outcomes and attendance is very strong. The school is very well resourced with exceptional outdoor provision and extensive grounds.


The successful candidate will:

  • Be supportive of the Catholic faith of the school and promote the Catholic ethos.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner who consistently delivers engaging, inclusive lessons that inspire all learners, and is deeply committed to remove all barriers to learning.
  • Be able to lead, manage and oversee the day-to- day operation of the school’s SEND provision to ensure the best possible outcomes for all pupils.
  • Work positively with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure tailored support plans and effectively implemented.
  • Be able to guide and support teaching staff in adapting their practice to meet the diverse needs of our pupils
  • Be committed and enthusiastic about undertaking fully supported professional training to excel in the SENDCo role
