An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Support role here at The Grove Partnership.

We are seeking to appoint a Business Support Assistant to join our Team of dedicated and hardworking staff who provide vital administrative support for the team and the school.

The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment where a flexible approach and can-do attitude are essential, whilst working alongside side a team of committed professionals.

This vacancy is primarily based at our Ferns Site, however all staff are expected to work across sites to meet the needs of the school.

The main key role of this post is to provide administrative support in our Pupil Reception. The successful candidate will therefore be able to accurately record attendance marks and provide reception cover. It is essential that the successful applicant is personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner. They will also need to be organised, able to multi task, work flexibly and have a 'can do' approach to work, as no two days are the same.

This role involves face to face contact with pupils upon their arrival to school and departure from school. The successful applicant will be a positive role model for all our pupils. The tasks will include undertaking a wide range of general office duties to support the smooth running of the school.

The post holder will:

  • Support the School Business Managers in all aspects of administrative work.
  • Accurately input attendance data using a SIMS MIS system.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have an awareness of the procedures required in a school setting.

Key skills required:

  • An understanding of the procedures and policies in place in a School setting.
  • Proficiency in data processing, including Excel and Management Information Systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles.
  • Experience of following instructions, procedures, processes and/or policies, including.

About The Grove Partnership:

We are a split site provision catering for pupils aged 11 16 years of age.

Our Ferns site is a Pupil Referral Service which offers Day 6 provision for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from an Oldham secondary school or Academy. Our second site, known as Laurel Bank currently hosts our Specialist Learning Centre and is based in Shaw, Oldham. This provision is for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health and medical needs which creates a barrier to their attendance at school. This site also hosts our unique provision catering for pupils from Laurel Bank with an Educational Health Care Plan and is the base for our Primary Outreach Service.
