We are seeking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Cleaner to join our friendly and supportive team and help us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

The Role

As a Cleaner, you will work under the direction of the Site Manager and will:

  • Undertake cleaning duties across designated areas of the school to ensure that they are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks including washing, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing and dusting.
  • Empty litter bins and clean designated areas, including toilets.
  • Use cleaning materials and electrical and non-electrical cleaning equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Report any faults, defects or concerns relating to equipment or the premises to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Follow the school’s Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of the wider school team and communicate appropriately with staff, pupils, contractors and visitors.
  • Participate in relevant training as required and undertake other appropriate duties consistent with the nature and grade of the post.

  • Is capable of carrying out cleaning duties to the standards required by the school.
  • Is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic and welcoming school environment.
  • Is willing to undertake relevant training and develop their skills as required.
  • Can communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, pupils and other members of the school community.
  • Understands the importance of health and safety when using cleaning materials and equipment.
