Governors are seeking to appoint a highly organised, approachable and proactive School Administrator & Attendance Officer to join our busy school office and play a key role in supporting pupils, staff and parents.

The Role:

This role combines daytoday school administration with responsibility for monitoring and improving pupil attendance. You will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors, helping ensure the school office runs smoothly and reflects the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Buckstones. The role also includes a number of financial administrative tasks essential to the smooth running of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional reception service for pupils, parents, staff and visitors
  • Manage daily administrative tasks including emails, phone calls, letters and data entry
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and support with admissions, leavers and transitions
  • Monitor daily attendance and punctuality, following up absences in line with attendance procedures
  • Produce attendance reports and work closely with senior leaders to identify patterns, concerns and next steps
  • Build positive relationships with families and offer supportive guidance around attendance
  • Liaise with external agencies when required
  • Support safeguarding processes with accuracy, discretion and confidentiality
  • Assist with general office duties such as photocopying, filing and organising school events


Financial Administration:

  • Manage the school fund account, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation
  • Process and monitor dinner money payments, including following up outstanding balances
  • Handle trip money, music contributions and other payments, maintaining clear and accurate records
  • Support the School Business Manager with routine financial tasks as required
