The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Kitchen Assistant

NJC scale point 3: £25,614 per annum

20 hrs per week - term time + 5 days (195 days)

Actual salary: £11,952 per annum

We are seeking to appoint an energetic and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to work within our catering provision which is based at the New Bridge Learning Centre in Oldham. Services include the provision of school meals, refreshments and breakfast to students. Tasks include cleaning and food preparation. Keeping the kitchen up to date with Food Hygiene regulations and recording accordingly ready for any inspection.

Hours of work are 20 hours per week worked between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday on a Term Time only basis plus 5 days. Exact working pattern to be discussed.

Applicants must be able to provide evidence of previous experience in the same or a similar environment. A friendly and professional manner with regards to customer service and working as part of a small team is essential. Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food presentation in and around the concession is also essential as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently especially when demand is at its highest. A food hygiene qualification is preferable but not essential as training can be provided.

Although based initially at New Bridge Learning Centre, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.

This post will be subject to several pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
