Actual Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (Pro-rata) (Subject to increase pending pay award)

The Governing Body of Alkrington Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed part-time teacher to join our Nursery team on a permanent job-share basis from 1 January 2027.

About the role

The successful candidate will be based within our Nursery class, working collaboratively with their job-share partner and the wider EYFS team to provide high-quality, engaging and inclusive early education.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective classroom practitioner who has high expectations for every child, a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the ability to create a stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to explore, develop their independence and enjoy learning.

• Have high expectations for all children and be committed to helping every child achieve their potential;
• Understand how young children learn and be able to create an engaging, stimulating and inclusive Early Years environment;
• Have strong planning, assessment and classroom organisation skills;
• Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team and develop an excellent working relationship with their job-share partner;
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers;
• Understand inclusive practice and meeting the needs of children with SEND and other additional needs;
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and children's wellbeing;
• Be reflective, enthusiastic and committed to continuing professional development; and
• Be keen to contribute positively to the wider life of Alkrington Primary School.
• Experience of working within Nursery or EYFS would be desirable, although we welcome applications from excellent teachers who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm needed to work successfully within Early Years.

Qualifications and communication

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or otherwise be legally eligible to undertake the role of a qualified teacher in a maintained school.

The ability to converse at ease with children, parents, colleagues and other service users and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
