Job Title: Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant (TA)/Midday Assistant
Salary: TA 12 hours per week Scale 2 Point 3 (£13.28 per hour) plus MDA 1 hour per week Scale 1 Point 3 (£13.28 per hour)
Contract Type: Fixed Term 1 until 31/08/2027 Term time only

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant for Early Years to compliment the class teacher’s role in the EYFS classroom. This role would suit an experienced teaching assistant. Midday duties are required as part of the roles to support children during lunchtime

Main purpose of the role

  • To provide support to the teacher in the EYFS classroom, in an appropriate learning environment
  • Assisting with the integration of pupils with special educational needs
  • Supporting children within a small group or on an individual basis within the classroom or on a withdrawal basis
  • To be an integral part of the school, working in close partnership with all staff

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • To support, assist & supervise children in or outside classes under the direction of the teacher
  • To participate in the planning process as directed by the teacher
  • To provide assistance in the development of learning resources within the school
  • To undertake basic first aid duties and attend to sick children
  • To provide support for children with physical needs
  • To provide clerical assistance as necessary e.g. reading records
