Greenfield Primary School is nestled in the Pennines in Saddleworth, at the heart of a supportive local community. Our children enjoy coming to school, our parents are engaged and supportive, and our experienced staff are committed to providing excellence and enjoyment for all.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled teacher to join our team, initially teaching a Year 1 class. You will work alongside an experienced Year 1 colleague, sharing ideas, planning and resources to provide a strong start to our children’s education.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands how young children learn, with strong practice in early reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Uses assessment thoughtfully to adapt teaching and meet pupils’ needs.
  • Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Works collaboratively and contributes to the wider life of the school.
  • Has the enthusiasm and subject knowledge to lead PE across the school.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading PE, building on our Platinum School Games Mark and our commitment to helping all children enjoy physical activity, participate in sport and develop healthy habits.

What we can offer:

  • Enthusiastic children who enjoy learning and taking part in school life.
  • A caring, experienced team who share their expertise and support one another.
  • Leaders who value professional dialogue, staff development and a manageable workload.
  • Opportunities to develop your teaching and subject leadership.
  • A strong commitment to personal development, enrichment and inclusion.
  • A modern school building, opened in September 2019, in a beautiful village setting.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. To arrange a visit or have an informal conversation about the role, please contact Ben Storey, Headteacher, on 0161 770 5525.
